Black Lives Matter

Let us be crystal clear. We here at Hadean Press fully support the Black Lives Matter movement. We don’t do very much in the way of online activism, ours instead happens behind the scenes through donations to various organisations, petition-signing, and sending walls of text to those Black Lives Matter deniers who show up in our inbox, among other things. We prefer to work this way in order to leave space for black voices on the internet and on the ground. That does not mean we are not part of this fight.

We remember Addie Mae Collins, Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson, Carol Denise McNair, Trayvon Martin, Carl Cooper, Aubrey Pollard, Fred Temple, Michael Brown, Alton Sterling, Botham Jean, Atatiana Jefferson, Ahmaud Arbery and all of the many others who have fallen victim to the approved systemic violence against black communities in the United States and around the world by the armed forces of white supremacism. We support the protestors gathering in the more than 350 cities across the USA.

We know Black Lives Matter, we know we are living in a world that black lives built at a terrible cost to themselves, to their cultures, and to their communities. We see the white shade thrown over black bodies, we hear the white voices drowning out black songs, we know that sometimes we are part of the problem.

Malcolm X said it: “I believe that there will ultimately be a clash between the oppressed and those that do the oppressing. I believe that there will be a clash between those who want freedom, justice and equality for everyone and those who want to continue the systems of exploitation.”

Hadean Press will always stand on the side of those who want freedom, justice, and equality, and we will always do what we can to fight for it.
